Rolling Ball SculpturesMerging physics, algebra and humanities, students will build a steel kinetic marble rolling sculpture.
|
Balloon CarsThe purpose of this project is to promote student interest in technology, engineering and problem solving by exploring the properties of motion. By participating in the scientific research, they will learn about velocity, acceleration, inertia, friction, gravity and achieve a deeper understanding of Newton's 3 Laws of Motion.
Fed Ex ProjectYou are given one day to study, research and present on a topic of your choice. Something that you are curious about, passionate about or just plain interested in. You are expected to deliver overnight, thus the FedEx name, a product, presentation or demonstration of what you have learned overnight.

The Dream Job ProjectHere is the scenario: the year is 2030, and you are now in your late twenties. You're coming back to High Tech High for your 10 year high school reunion. You have gone through college, and you are several years into your career.
What will you be doing? What is your dream job? That is the task of this project. You will explore what it is like to be a grown-up! Elemental SuperherosYou are using an element to design an amazing new superhero or evil villain. Using the web quest, you will research your element and gain an better understanding of the periodic table and more specifically, your element. Your character that you create must embody the same characteristics as your element.
For example: If your element is Sulfur, your villain may be yellow and sprays a vapor to make things smell bad since sulfur is yellow and has a strong, distinct odor. |
Automatons-Monumental MovementsStudents dove into the world of mechanical engineering and studied mechanisms that convert motion to varying directions. Students also studied different social justice movements that helped improve Americans as a whole or specific groups of Americans. We then blended the two together and built Automatons.
